International Mother Language Day Celebration

This is one of the reasons why we need an unending conversation about what to do to perpetuate our Mother Languages as a nation.
Sanegbaa, festival of Ghanaian languages, provides such platform towards marking the UNESCO International Mother Language Day.
In this year’s edition, which is being organized virtually (zoom/webinar), panelists including Nana Kwasi Gyan Apenteng (Former Chairman, National Media Commission), Mrs. Ama Serwa Nerquaye-Tetteh
(Secretary-General, Ghana Commission for UNESCO), Dr Clement Appah (Snr Lecturer, Linguistics Dept., University of Ghana), Dr. Gladys Ansah (Snr Lecturer, English Dept., University of Ghana), Mr. William Boateng (Dir., Bureau of Ghana Languages), Mr Asare Konadu Yamoah
(Chairman, Ghana Cultural Forum & President, Ghana Book Publishers Association) and Mr Samuel Owusu Nyantakyi
(Neyram Language Centre), will be engaged in a discussion based on the 2021 UNESCO International Mother Language Day theme ”Fostering Multilingualism for inclusion in education and society”.
